News of Jailbreaking Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPod Touch and apple TV has been rife on the internet. There have been instructions on how to break into the operating system, allowing the user to then download various applications through the App store plus iTunes via unofficial installers.
Today, we have learned that iPad users that currently run the 3.2.2 version of Apple’s iOS, will now be able to jailbreak their device. Justin over at PR News, has recently spoken about this, including a basic breakdown from Taimur at redmondpie.com of what you have to do.
The first step to jailbreaking your iPad tablet is to download the software from limera1n.com. Secondly, the Apple device will then have to be linked to a PC via the USB port, and a box will show up with a button saying make it ra1n. Click onto that and the device will begin to go into recovery mode.
If you have followed the instructions up until now, the next step is holding down the home + power buttons, and releasing the power button. The tablet will begin to go into DFU mode, Limera1n will then need to be launched followed by an installation of Cydia for which the device will restart.
